Rotarian Barbara Warnock sat on the edge of the stage in the Old Town Hall Theatre above the Aylmer library and recounted some recent history of the unique building.  For years, the offices for the Town of Aylmer staff were on the lower level and the stage and theatre upstairs were unused for some years.  One day, Barb, sitting poolside with a friend, decided they should do some acting together, Barb having some experience in high school and college productions.  In 2001 Aylmer Community Theatre (ACT) was born and is now in its 18th season as a great local theatre. We toured the sound and light booth, talked with Stage Director Rotarian Mary Morin and learned some of her tricks behind the scenes. Then there was a tour back stage and a discussion about selecting plays, auditions, casting and props.  Rehearsals take place in the basement of Bob Warnock’s office building before final technical rehearsals are held in the rented theatre. Refreshments were served and hearty thanks expressed to Barb and Mary.
