Past President Gerry chaired the meeting in the absence of President Barbara. See pics of group. Announcements Gerry announced that the Rotary Ranch Party brought in total profits of nearly $880. Malcolm and Catharine spoke of the new campaign at STEGH for fundraising for an MRI machine. Malcolm encouraged members to think about whether we could make a significant financial contribution to this effort. He is hopeful that we could have a speaker about this topic. Gerry announced that the “Business After 5” chamber member gathering would be held at the Horton Market tonight. The Discovery Tour Committee reported that the last destination point on the Tour has been amended and that site has enough space for the Quiz and Evaluations to be handed in. Gerry and Catharine gave out paper tickets for us to sell for the Rotary Discovery Tour. Please return the stubs to Catharine when you sell tickets so that they are entered into the draw. Trudy mentioned that when selling the 50/50 tickets for this event on the day we need to collect first and last names. Ron spoke about clearing out Rotary materials that his son Cliff has allowed us to store on his premises. Some old Tour of Homes signs will be recycled. There are a number of industrial floor mats that could be used if any member would like same. The Railway City Rotary Club of St. Thomas is preparing a meal once every 4 months for Ronald McDonald house families in London. Catharine is assisting with the next preparation. President of the RCRC Club is Al Gardner and President-Elect is Dagmar. Catharine and a colleague are delivering a “Cancer Education Series” which covers the cancer journey and also stresses immunology, psycho-social aspects of cancer, prevention and nutrition. There is a donation section of Catharine’s BRACAshirts website. A percentage of profits goes to charitable organizations. 50/50 Stew won.
