WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2018

Today's club meeting was held at the Elevated Park, far west end of Centre St., at noon. The day was clear and sunny, the weather warm, a perfect day for a picnic lunch.

Seven members attended, Gerry Janssen, Malcolm Rust, Trudy Kanellis, Nancy Lovelock, Mary Morin, Adriana Balderas and Ron Somerville, accompanied for her first Rotary meeting by Suzette, Ron's toy poodle.

No business agenda was needed, but several items of interest were discussed.

–      Catherine Janssen is recovering well after her surgery.

–      We are invited to attend an Open House at the Wayside so Nick and Trudy can introduce the new owners. It will be held on Monday evening, October 15, from 5:00pm to 7:00.

–      Nancy Lovelock is hosting the Area 10 meeting on Wednesday evening, 7:00pm, at her home on Forest Ave. All members are welcome to attend.

–      An impromptu discussion (tutorial ?) was held around internet scams and the experiences various people have had.

      -    The next Tour of Homes meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 16, 7:00,pm at the home of

            Dawn Pottleberg

–      Please note: The Grand Bend has now packed and shipped over seventy freight containers

of abandoned contents of closed Ontario schools to South Africa and Mexico.

The club has to pay all the expenses incurred for the shipments and so each year a special fund-raiser dinner is held

It is called Autumn Indulgence and will be on October 20, a Saturday evening, at the Huron County Playhouse.

We are informed that it is an all-inclusive evening with a gourmet dinner in a Black Forest theme, It will be an evening of music and fun, with both Silent and Live Auctions.

For all those clubs and members who have not or cannot work on the loading project this is an opportunity to support this great initiative.

(Sorry but the message did not have a price mentioned.)

See the contact information in the Rotaserver.

There being no agenda the meeting was not adjourned. We all just went home.
